Peter Deilmann Casanova

Sailing the Danube roundtrip from Passau (Munich) on the Danube from March through October. Highlights include Vienna and Budapest.

Peter Deilmann's 5 star, 96 passenger Casanova is a comfortable and intimate ship.

The ship was built in 2001. The staterooms on the upper deck have full length French doors which open into the cabins. The cabins on the lower deck have large windows. There are two lower-deck junior suites. All cabins have built in closets, desk, television, telephone and hairdryer. Terry robes are available upon request. Bedding is European style duvets with feather pillows and eiderdowns. The closet and drawer space were sufficient for a 7 night cruise, and we were 2 women sharing one cabin.

All meals are single seating with evening meals up to nine courses on selected nights. The cuisine is European in style with buffet salads available for most lunches. The portions are not as large as we are used to seconds are always available. Also, there is always a fish, meal or poultry, and vegetarian selection available. The soups were wonderful!

The shore excursions were excellent and broken up into groups according to language spoken. Since we were a group, we had our own tours on most excursions.

There is nightly entertainment, usually a piano player who does take requests. In one port, a fabulous opera singer came on board to entertain and in Venice, a group who sang and got most people up dancing were fun.

I highly recommend the Casanova for charters as the staff bends over backwards to make any request happen.
